Long time supporter of the LGBT community Absolute has removed the label from it’s iconic bottle as part of it’s latest iniative — In an ABSOLUT World, There Are No Labels. The limited edition naked bottle launched globally this month featuring only a small removable sticker encouraging consumers to discard their labels and to visit absolut.com/nolabel. The program seeks to challenge prejudice about sexual identities.

I scream, you scream
We all scream for marriage equality! Not exactly new news, but definitely very cool, famed ice cream makers Ben and Jerry have changed the name of their popular Chubby Hubby to Hubby Hubby in support of marriage equality. Way to go guys! Now we can all indulge in some delicious carbs and not feel so guilty. So eat up for equality and check out the site.
Lime – Best straight brunch in the Castro
After months of walking by Lime on weekends and hearing the cheers of boistorous diners inside I finally got around to joining them — I’m surprised I was able to resist the sweet siren song of bottomless mimosas as long as I did. With thumping music and a crowd intent on keeping last night’s party going it’s essentially nightclub dining during the day. A reasonably priced menu features tasty standard fair but it’s those all-you-can-drink mimosas that are the real draw and the staff is good about keeping your glass full. More »

Fortunately, no one was injured. According to several sources, the neighborhood favorite is expected to be closed for several weeks while repairs are made.

SF Street Food Festival this Saturday
This one-day event, organized by La Cocina, features food from host of SF restaurants including Delfina, Kasa, Absinthe, and Chaac Mool. Admission is free and no dish will cost more than $8. According to the event’s website, the day-long block party will bring together micro-entrepreneurs, informal food vendors and renowned chefs to celebrate great street food, entrepreneurial spirit and the vibrant communities of San Francisco. “Starbelly” opens tomorrow in the Castro
Starbelly, the latest restaurant creation from Deborah Blum and Adriano Paganini who made Beretta a new hot spot on Valencia at 22nd, opens its doors tomorrow in the old Askew location at 16th and Market. According to SF Eater, “There should be some housemade charcuterie on the menu, along with the expected pizzas, bar program and such. Like its big sis, Starbelly will do the late-night thing too, staying open until midnight.” More »
