Mexico City assembly legalizes same-sex marriage
Congrats to our friends south of the border! Mexico City is now city the first in Latin America to legalize same-sex marriage. Buenos Aires legalized same-sex civil unions in 2002 and Uruguay has legalized civil unions nationwide. Now we’re up to seven countries and counting that currently allow gay marriages: Canada, Spain, South Africa, Sweden, Norway, the Netherlands and Belgium. Read more here.
My stay at the legendary Chelsea Hotel
This post was originally entitled “The art of the Chelsea Hotel.” However, the disgruntled folks who run the hotel wouldn’t give me permission to publish any of the photos I took of the artwork (even though I offered to give full credit to the hotel and to the individual artists featured). So I’m changing direction a bit; I will now have to tell you about my experience staying there for ten days as a hotel guest.
